Invacare a global leader in the medical industry is committed to environmental stewardship across its operations worldwide. Our mission is to achieve environmental excellence by integrating sustainable practise into our manufacturing, distribution, service and administrative activities. We aim for continuous improvements to comply with evolving environmental regulations and work closely with government agencies to ensure compliance. This includes environmental permitting, monitoring, record keeping and reporting with the corporate environmental compliance calendar to keep on task on track. Beyond regulatory compliance we focus on product stewardship and sustainability we are committed to carbon neutrality by 2045

Due to a local complexity on manufacturing site in Pencoed, we are unable at this stage to report scope to base figures we are working with our landlord the Welsh government to enable us to separate the energy usage for our unit within the site where we are co-located with other businesses we are confident a solution can be found in the next 12 months and provide more accurate emissions for scope 1

During year 2024 we established that not all contributors would be able to supply us with suitable data for scope 3. We are currently going through a process of engaging with our suppliers of upstream and downstream activities to look in how they and we share information and mapping the infrastructure and tools required to enable us to record emissions and monitoring for future reporting

To continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following:

carbon reduction projects and wish set emission reduction targets once our baseline has been recorded and monitoring can be achieved.

Achieving ISO 14001 certification
Review in the electrification of vehicles
Product and packaging design considerations for recyclability
Optimization of packaging and materials
Working with Landlord to find solution to establish base line for Scope 2.

Declaration and Sign Off

This carbon reduction plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/ 21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for carbon reduction plans and the GHG reporting protocol corporate standard 13 and uses the appropriate government emissions conversion factors for greenhouse gases reporting 14. Scope 1and 2 emissions have been recorded reported in accordance with SECR are requirements and the documents subset of scope 3 emissions and reported in accordance with the published recording standard for carbon reduction plans and corporate value chain (scope 30 standard 15. This carbon reduction plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors or equivalent management body.
