Team Invacare help raise funds at Bridgend Roller Derby Event
Invacare recently supported local sports group Bridgend Roller Derby who hosted this year’s Play 4 MND event in September. The event supported the national charity Motor Neurone Disease Association, with the aim of raising the charity’s profile, and awareness of the invaluable work and support they provide for people affected by Motor Neurone disease.
The company proudly sponsored Team Invacare who not only won their match but produced plenty of excitement and fast, paced speed skating action on the day in this full contact sport. Six teams battled it out and competed against each other to win points as they raced around the track. It was Team Invacare who won their game. Among the key players were Invacare employees Emma Richards who won Best blocker on the day, and Rhian Greenfield who are part of our Accounts team.
Off the circuit there was plenty of activities for visitors to participate in with music, food and refreshments, raffles, and competitions. The event was a huge success and raised £1321 for the MND Association
