Super proud to sponsor Superhero Series Powered by Marvel. An all-inclusive sports challenge for people with disabilities.
Superhero Series Powered by Marvel Invacare sponsors events 2024

SUperhero series powered by Marvel

We are super excited to join the trailblazing Superhero Series powered by Marvel as a key sponsor for 2024. This event perfectly aligns with the company’s ethos of ‘Making Life’s Experiences Possible®’ as they join a prestigious list of sponsors in supporting the UK’s only mass-participation sports series dedicated to people with disabilities.

The Superhero Series powered by Marvel is a competitive family fun event where participants compete in and around Dorney Lake in Windsor. The series holds two annual outdoor events per year; the Superhero Tri in the Summer and Winter Wonderwheels in the Winter, plus two ‘At home’ virtual events, giving as many people as possible the opportunity to participate.

This summer sees the Superhero Tri; a fully inclusive event, taking place on 17 August. The event organisers encourage participants to use any method of support required to complete their challenge. Regardless of your disability, all ‘gadgets and gismos’ are welcomed on the course, from floats and boats to adaptive bikes and trikes. Participants can choose between flying solo or teaming up with ‘Sidekicks’ (non-disabled family and friends) to take on the unique challenges with as much or as little time and support as they need. Although an all-inclusive sports event, there is a huge emphasis on fun.

Invacare will be igniting its superpowers of ‘Making Life’s Experiences Possible’ with a team of caped ‘Sidekicks’.

How to get involved

We want you to join Team Invacare as a participant in any of the above events, with your chosen ‘Sidekicks’. Joining Team Invacare are a number of sporting celebrities including Hannah Cockroft, OBE and Nathan Maguire. The full details of how you can join us will be released shortly on our website.

Mike Farrell, Managing Director at Invacare UK & Ireland commented; “At Invacare, we truly believe in our mission statement of “Making Life’s Experiences Possible”. Our new partnership with the Superhero Series organisation and the events they create are perfectly aligned to that mission and we look forward to being a part of these wonderful events for many years to come.”

The Superhero Series is founded and run by Paralympian, Sophia Warner, who has been involved in disability sport for more than 25 years. Speaking of her reasons for launching the series, Sophia says: “I know first-hand what a hugely positive impact sport can have on a person’s life. I believe everyone should have the chance to enjoy momentous and often life-changing sporting events. That’s why when I retired from professional sport, I created the Superhero Series – sporting events designed especially for people with disabilities.

“I’m thrilled to have Invacare on board as a key sponsor for the Superhero Series – having the support of such a well-established brand elevates the profile and importance of disability sport for the masses to a whole new level.”

The Superhero Tri is just one event in the Superhero Series, we at Invacare will also be encouraging participants and ‘Sidekicks’ to join us at the ‘Winter Wonderwheels’ event which is taking place in December.
