Continuous Improvement Engineer

We are the centre of excellence for the manufacture of pressure area care mattresses and seating, together with associated upholstery products. Our aim is to manufacture and deliver high quality products to our Global customers. To support our further expansion, we currently have a vacancy for a Continuous Improvement Engineer, based at our site in Pencoed, South Wales.
Reporting to the Engineering and Facilities Manager, you will work closely with the Operations Management Team, providing hands-on support to enable the implementation of lean strategies and projects across the business. 
  • You will drive, lead and support Kaizen/continuous improvement events utilising the full range of Lean Methodologies.
  • Actively participate in projects, perform root cause analysis of system failures, then use standard tools and methods to resolve any machine or system issues and implement subsequent corrective actions to establish a permanent solution.
  • You will be expected to drive the standardisation of processes, the implementation of metrics and best practices.
  • Create an environment to allow the sharing of best practice methods and ideas across the business.   
  • Support our Workplace Lean Champions to promote an ongoing continuous learning environment.
  • Train, coach and motivate fellow employees in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques.
  • Implement Lean/Six Sigma problem solving tools.
  • Conduct workshops and other training programs to foster cross-functional deployment of Lean Methodologies.
 The role would suit a talented degree level qualified engineer or someone with equivalent experience, knowledge, and skills that will enable you to perform the tasks of the job proficiently. You must possess an in-depth experience of process machinery, measuring OEE & process mapping, with knowledge of LEAN, TPM and Six Sigma systems and have manufacturing machinery experience, gained in a manufacturing process engineering.
Proven experience of leading projects to implement lean principles, drive change and champion continuous improvement initiatives, alongside the ability to demonstrate strong project management skills for new products from prototype level through to mass production is essential.
The need to be a great team player is essential; along with high energy enthusiasm, hardworking, innovative, and a positive ‘can- do’ attitude with a passion for the manufacturing business environment.
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office), Excel, Word, and Outlook (or equivalent) are essential along with experience of using Database Systems; including Quality Management Systems.
The role may require you to visit our other European facilities and as such, a full driving licence along with a current, valid passport will be essential for the role.

Invacare's approach to Safe Patient Handling is about understanding and working with Occupational Therapists and Healthcare Professionals to support their experiences within Community, Residential and Acute care and we are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Safe Patient Handling team to cover the UK East Anglia Region.

Our Business Development Managers are dedicated to providing support and assistance of the highest quality to Healthcare Professional and you will manage a sales area where you will be responsible for building our brand, increasing our market presence, establishing account relationships, and developing a great customer experience.
The candidate must possess a thorough understanding of the NHS and dealer markets. Previous experience of the manual handling, home care and Bed market would also be a distinct advantage.
Key responsibilities will include finding and bringing new business leads to fruition and managing existing accounts as well as providing fantastic customer support at all times
All candidates must have experience in delivering amazing customer sales service; Are comfortable presenting to small or large groups of medical professionals; Have a proven sales record; Be dynamic, energetic and want success.
You will need to have a good technical understanding be self-motivated and demonstrate good organisational skills to achieve budgets/targets. Strong IT skills and the ability to analyse information together with first class attention to detail are also prerequisite for the role.
