Manufacturing Award win for Invacare

Invacare wins manufacturing awards

Our Operations team have been working hard to make significant changes in our manufacturing process.  This has resulted in the company being recognised and winning the Make UK Manufacturing Health and Safety Award 2021.

The company won the award after successfully removing the Dichloromethane from its manufacturing process.  This has eliminated the main health and safety concern from its production line, improving the working environment for its employees.

In addition, the team implemented a hot melt glue process which has automated its mattress manufacturing which ensures the company remain competitive in the market place.

The company was also runner up in the ‘Innovation’ category for developing a hybrid dynamic mattress – the InvaSoft.  The aim was to create and develop a fully hybrid dynamic mattress with state of the art technology, using market leading materials with innovative designs that addressed customer needs.

Commenting on the award, managing director of Invacare UK Operations Ltd and Head of Operational Excellence EMEA, Chris Bevan said: “The Invacare UK team are pleased and very proud to be recognised for their work on these projects and pick up the two awards for Health & Safety and Innovation from Make UK.”
